The Ship & the Moon

The ship landed.

The ship takes off.

The ship goes to space.

The ship is in space.

The ship lands on the moon.

This is not a class project. This is not something he was assigned to do. This is something my son decided to do during his free play at school one day. He wrote, illustrated, and bound his own book.

In my memory, I’ve always loved writing stories. I can remember a few that I worked on in high school, and I remember making up stories in my daily journal in sixth grade. But I don’t remember the first story I ever wrote.

I am so proud that I have the first story my son ever wrote. And I’ll have it forever. Or he will. Either way. I think it’s fantastic.
