Honestly, I can’t remember when we made the pact. But a couple friends and I made a pact to not cut our hairs for five years. After keeping my hair pretty short for so long, it’s been a strange (and wonderful) adjustment to having so much hair. My hair is thick…really thick. And I kept it short because it was easier. I could never figure out what to do with all my hair when it was long.
I’ve been figuring it out along the way, but having long hair is actually fun. I feel more feminine, and like there are so many more options (and, when it’s been thinned and isn’t too heavy, there’s always the classic ponytail that works for any situation) in styling. One of my favorite pastimes now is to go through Pinterest and pin styles I’d like to try. I’ve even tried a few.
So, how fast does my hair grow? Check it out:
I know June 2011 to January 2012 is a long stretch of time, but I really didn’t have any good pictures of my hair. Still. This is the healthiest my hair has ever been (hasn’t been dyed in a loooooong time), and I think it’s also the best it’s looked.
Approximately 5 inches in 21 months. Can you imagine how long it’ll be when I’ve hit the 5 year mark?
