RWH: Writing Goals

My writing goal seems simple enough. I want to be published. Knowing this goal is helping me set smaller goals. Finding Agnes will be done by the end of this year. Even if I have to sit out of NaNoWriMo this year to get it done. I have a local publisher (well, kind of local) that I’d really love to work with. She is opening up for submissions in January, and she has agreed to look at my novel. Even if it’s not right for her, she said she is more than happy to make suggestions of other publishers to try.

My short term goal is to organize the sections I have written so far, so I can figure out where the gaps are. I have a friend looking it over to help me figure out the structure of the story as a whole. I also plan to continue on with the Write on Edge prompts as often as possible. Even if those pieces don’t make it into the final draft, they are still helping me flesh out these lives.

Red Writing Hood is a weekly writing meme from the Write on Edge community. Constructive criticism is appreciated.

This week’s Red Writing Hood prompt: It’s the beginning of autumn, the students are back in the classrooms, and at Write on Edge our thoughts are turning to our dreams and ambitions. This week we want to hear about your writing goals. Take three hundred words and tell us about where you want to take your writing.

It’s a good story, and I think it’s telling that you have such specific goals for it. You can do this πŸ™‚

That’s great you have a publisher willing to look at your work. One hurdle down πŸ™‚

I’m hoping I can use NaNo to focus on a half finished story that desperately needs attention. There are so many gaps and so much that will eventually be cut since it doesn’t really flow in the actual story. Fingers crossed I can get it DONE πŸ™‚

Glad we fit into the plan in some way, and anything I can do to help, I will. I can’t tell you how excited I am to have you working on my book!

Glad things are going well for you. Glad I’m not the only one that uses WOE to help with Characters and story line.

Looking forward to seeing you achieve your goals!

I can’t wait to see Finding Agnes in print! I know you’ll get there. You’re already over half way.
